OptiFlow™ Water Treatment System

With OptiFlow, you get an automated and robust wastewater treatment system tailored for salmon slaughtering and processing facilities.
Advantages:
- Minimizes the risk of a complete operational shutdown
- Maximum performance across all treatment stages
- Reduced operating and maintenance expenses
- Streamlined control and operation for straightforward management
The system ensures compliance with increasingly strict environmental regulations by providing full operational control and reducing key wastewater parameters—including COD, BOD, FOG, TSS, total nitrogen (TN), and total phosphorus (TP). The disinfection is performed at the end of the treatment process, allowing the safe discharge of clean water into the environment.
OptiFlow is designed as a flow-through process requiring only a single pumping station to transport water through all treatment stages, including final disinfection, and is fully scalable to customer needs with capacities from 2 m³/h to more than 1,000 m³/h.Unfiltered water is not pumped, and a smartly designed buffer tank fulfills dual roles as both a collection point for filtered process water and an equalization tank for the subsequent treatment phases.
Wastewater treatment processes generate sludge and solid residues that must be handled efficiently and hygienically. We offer customized sludge handling solutions adapted to the specific characteristics of your wastewater, treatment process, and operational needs.
How it works:
Thoughtful engineering choices ensure a smooth and reliable process from start to finish:
- Wastewater flows by gravity through filtration units and down into an underground buffer tank. This simultaneously serves as an equalization tank for the next treatment steps.
- From the equalization tank, the water is pumped through a flocculation stage, where chemicals can be dosed as needed.
- The water is then directed into the DAF (Dissolved Air Flotation) tank for primary flotation.
- After the DAF treatment, chlorine solutions are added before the water is led into a flow-through holding tank system.
- Throughout the holding tanks, sufficient contact time between the water and the chlorine is ensured. The process concludes with the release of fully treated and safe water.
