Low-pressure water jets that surround the entire circumference of the fish's body have a gentle effect on the fish and its welfare. Combined with other thermal treatment systems, it reduces the temperature needed for effective delousing by approximately 2°C, thus also increasing the effectiveness of lice removal if the water temperature remains unchanged.

How it works:

The Optiflush nozzles are designed as a series of dewatering units with flushing stations between each unit. The nozzles are positioned on an outer pressure ring that covers the entire circumference of the fish track. This prevents fish from getting too close to the nozzles, while also providing the fish with a 360-degree flush as they flow through the system. Optiflush nozzles are designed to avoid clogging – meaning that water velocity and pressure are maintained at a constant level at all nozzles. Unlike conventional flushing, where fish can be injured by clogged nozzles, as the remaining open nozzles are exposed to increased water velocity.
